Today was going to be a very chilled out day as we chose to go to Typhoon Lagoon. Personally I preferred Blizzard Beach on our last holiday but Hubby wanted to go into the six foot wave pool so Typhoon Lagoon it was this time around and we didn’t have time to visit both. I was hoping to have time to pop to Animal Kingdom before going to the water park to watch Festival Of The Lion King, but Miss A really didn’t want to wake up and get going this morning so we went straight to the water park.
Now we’re home in hindsight I wish we had made the time for Animal Kingdom as I regret not watching the Festival of The Lion King now. Still there’s always next time.

It was a hot day today and we could tell it was going to be busy as the bus arrived at Typhoon Lagoon. We made our way to the back of the park to find a shady spot and whilst we couldn’t find any sunbeds, we didn’t really need them and there were plenty of chairs stacked up everywhere.
Having something on your feet is advisable when visiting Typhoon Lagoon, so wearing something like pool shoes is a good idea as walking from your shady spot on the beach to an entrance of the lazy river can be a hot walk for you feet in the sun. We spent a while going around the lazy river which is lovely until you have to go under the waterfall area. I had forgotten about this from the last holiday and it’s so cold and powerful that if you’re unlucky you can get stuck there until the current or another person pushes you through into the dark cave.
Another small regret is that we didn’t take a water camera. I had toyed with buying a GoPro but hadn’t and that will be something to rectify before our next trip. The lack of photos is obvious from Day 7 as we spent the majority of our time in the water. It was lovely to be able to chill out in the sun on a rubber tube though for a lot of the day.
Hubby had his time in the six foot wave pool before we found somewhere for lunch. Typhoon Lagoon always impresses me with its menu choices and I had a lovely Cajun chicken burger that I hadn’t seen on any other menu across Disney. They really should make it available in the parks unless I’ve missed it as it’s lovely.

After a little bit of chilling out on the chairs in the shade to let our lunch go down, we headed back to the lazy river. Miss A wasn’t interested in going on any of the rides, I think she was tired today. On our last holiday we went to Typhoon Lagoon near the end of the holiday, perhaps we should visit near the beginning next time when we are full of energy.
Miss A had asked to watch the movie under the stars tonight so it was a really chilled out day as when we got back to Caribbean Beach Resort, we showered and found ourselves a lovely outside table to enjoy our dinner on later and Hubby and I shared a bottle of wine whilst Miss A watched the film.
