I can’t believe today is our last full day in Disney this year. Everyone was a little tired today so after a lazy start we all decided to get on the bus to Magic Kingdom and do a bit of resort hopping. We also wanted to go on the Monorail, something we didn’t manage to do in 2014.
The choice initially was a water taxi to The Wilderness Lodge or The Polynesian. The Polynesian won as the water taxi was empty. Silly things, but it also meant I could get a Dole Whip Float from the Poly as well. As the water taxi was empty and waiting to go, we hopped on and took in the sights across the Seven Seas Lagoon. We decided that we would visit both the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian as we were heading around in a circle.
The Polynesian is a lovely Deluxe resort, but for some reason none of us loved it enough during our brief visit to want to spend the money to stay here. There was some renovations going on, but the pool didn’t stand out to us and it felt a little corporate inside for our liking. Still it was nice to get a Dole Whip float as a little bonus. I think if we stayed here I would eat my own body weight in floats they are so refreshing. One thing we all agreed on as we made our way to the Monorail stop was that we would be back to enjoy a meal in Ohana!
We boarded the Monorail around to the Grand Floridian and went in to have a look around. We caught them on carpet laying day, but despite that the extra touches in here are amazing. The smell in the Grand Floridian is something I can’t describe but it’s so welcoming. I would definitely stay here if money was no object.
I had to resist going up in the lift just because. We caught a princess tea party in full swing and Miss A got a brief meet with Aurora purely by accident which was nice. I have also earmarked to go back to 1900 Park Fare for a meal. I do need to meet my Prince Charming at some point!
The Monorail leaves the Grand Floridian and makes its way around to Magic Kingdom, but we stayed on to go through the Contemporary. I wanted to go through the hotel and it was also fun to go and see Chef Mickey’s as this was a meal I had originally booked, but we changed our plans before we travelled.
After doing the circuit again we exited the monorail at Magic Kingdom and made our way back for an afternoon of swimming and then the dreaded packing in the evening. Miss A had a great time in the pool this afternoon and she spent hours entertaining herself mastering her handstand in the water. It was lovely to lay by the pool reading a book.
