Over the years utilising the Disney Dining plan, we have been lucky enough to enjoy the majority of the Animal Kingdom restaurants. On our most recent trip to Disney World in April 2019, we went back to the Rainforest Cafe which is underrated by many, and we think it’s one of the best Animal Kingdom restaurants the park has to offer.
How Many Restaurants Are There In Animal Kingdom?
For such a large park, there are only four different table service restaurants in Animal Kingdom. That being said there are so many places to eat in Animal Kingdom, you will never go hungry.

Tusker House Character Restaurant
Tusker House is the only character restaurant, located in Africa quite close to the Festival of The Lion King show in Harambe theatre, and not too far away from Kilimanjaro Safaris.
You can expect to meet Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Daisy Duck and Goofy in their safari gear during your character buffet meal.
One of the best reasons to visit Tusker House is for the jungle juice, a mix of passion fruit juice, guava juice and orange juice. It’s a lovely thirst quencher and one you will definitely want to try.
Yak and Yeti Restaurant
If you like Chinese food then you’ll enjoy Yak and Yeti table service restaurant. Yak and Yeti do also have a quick service location that is worth a visit, but we thoroughly enjoyed our table service meal.
Yak and Yeti can be found in Asia near Expedition Everest. You can expect to find dishes such as Lo Mein, Asian Seared Tuna, Coconut Shrimp,
Sweet and Sour Chicken, Korean BBQ Ribs to name a few.
In Walt Disney World, you can find two Rainforest Cafe’s. One is in Disney Springs, and the other at the front of the Animal Kingdom park. We have eaten here twice now and had great experiences both times.
As the restaurant is at the front of the park, you don’t need a valid park ticket to eat here, and can access just before the entrance after the security stations.
Rainforest Cafe is a themed restaurant with plenty of features, you really do feel like you’re walking into the rainforest with the waterfall.s trees and animals. Each section has different animatronic animals in the walls and ceiling, as well as plenty of fish tanks that are home to many a different variety of tropical fish.
The menu is large with a lot of choice, but there are some delicious combos of chicken, ribs and shrimp on offer, as well as burgers and salads to name a few choices.
If you can manage it the sparkling volcano is a huge sharing dessert made up of chocolate cake and ice cream.
The menu is very reasonably priced, and is one of the lesser value restaurants if you’re using the Disney Dining plan, but equally you wont go away hungry and is a good use of a table service credit.
Tiffins is a signature restaurant that will cost you two table service credits. You can find Tiffins in Discovery Island near the entrance of Animal Kingdom park on the way to Pandora land.
You can expect to find dishes such as butter chicken, braised lamb shank, shrimp and grits, surf and turf, and tamarind braised short rib.
If you are thinking of watching Rivers of Light, the night time show at Animal Kingdom, then you may like to take advantage of the Rivers of Light dining package. This package allows you premium seating at the evening show as well as a meal at either Tiffins or Tusker House.
