Best Animal Kingdom Restaurants

Over the years utilising the Disney Dining plan, we have been lucky enough to enjoy the majority of the Animal Kingdom restaurants. On our most recent trip to Disney World, we went back to the Rainforest Cafe. The restaurant is underrated by many, but we think it’s one of the best Animal Kingdom restaurants the park has to offer.

How Many Restaurants Are There In Animal Kingdom?

For such a large park, there are only four different table service restaurants in Animal Kingdom. That being said there are so many places to eat in Animal Kingdom, you will never go hungry. After a busy day in Animal Kingdom checking out the amazing rides and attractions, I’m sure you’re ready for a nice meal.

Tusker House Character Restaurant

Tusker House is the only character restaurant in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It’s located in Africa quite close to the Festival of The Lion King show in Harambe theatre, and not too far away from Kilimanjaro Safaris.

You can expect to meet Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Daisy Duck and Goofy in their safari gear during your character buffet meal.

One of the best reasons to visit Tusker House is for the jungle juice, a mix of passion fruit juice, guava juice and orange juice. It’s a lovely thirst quencher and one you will definitely want to try.

Rainforest Cafe

In Walt Disney World, you can find two Rainforest Cafe’s. One is in Disney Springs, and the other at the front of the Animal Kingdom park. We have eaten here twice now and had great experiences both times.

As the restaurant is at the front of the park, you don’t need a valid park ticket to eat here, and can access just before the entrance after the security stations.

Rainforest Cafe is a themed restaurant with plenty of features, you really do feel like you’re walking into the rainforest with the waterfall.s trees and animals.

Each section has different animatronic animals in the walls and ceiling, as well as plenty of fish tanks that are home to many a different variety of tropical fish.

sparkling volcano cake

The menu is large with a lot of choice, but there are some delicious combos of chicken, ribs and shrimp on offer, as well as burgers and salads to name a few choices.

If you can manage it the sparkling volcano is a huge sharing dessert made up of chocolate cake and ice cream.

The menu is very reasonably priced, and is one of the lesser value restaurants if you’re using the Disney Dining plan, but equally you wont go away hungry and is a good use of a table service credit.
