Today was the day I was waiting for during our holiday. It was the day we were going to Magic Kingdom to have dinner at Be Our Guest and meet the Beast. We started the day with a morning of swimming and I took a walk around the 1.2 mile walking trail at Caribbean Beach resort to take in the views. I took my camera with me along the walk to share the stunning views the resort has to offer.
After a quick lunch we set off for Magic Kingdom for an afternoon packed with new things to do. We had lots on our list and had planned to spend a lovely relaxed afternoon before having dinner and leaving after that. The days at the parks never seem to go to plan for us for some reason, and we ended up staying much later than we planned, but I had the best day of the holiday so far I think. It was busy but so relaxing at the same time (despite getting lost when it started to go dusk).

We started off by wandering up Main Street after a stop to see Goofy on his bench, something we missed seeing in 2014. We veered off towards Tomorrowland to ride the People Mover which was great fun and a lovely way to escape the heat. The Festival of Fantasy Parade was on but we decided to stay where we were to avoid the crowds and as we had watched it the other day we didn’t mind missing it.
We had Fast Passes for Peter Pan’s Flight, a ride that always has long queues for some reason, meeting Anna and Elsa and Tomorrowland Speedway. I have to say driving around with Miss A, I’m not sure I’m ready to teach her to drive when she’s old enough!

Something I had really set my heart on was trying a Le Fou’s Brew in Gaston’s Tavern. Hearing so much about it, I was desperate to try the frozen spicy apple juice mix, and I wasn’t disappointed! We all enjoyed it and it was so refreshing in the heat. We may have all gotten a little bit of brain freeze but the serving was plenty for us all to share, and just one snack credit which was a bonus.

We were nearing 5pm, and our Fast Pass time to meet Anna and Elsa, but I remembered the Main Street flag retreat that happens at 5pm each day. There is something very patriotic watching the flag being lowered and the veterans of the USA being thanked for they service, and it’s a great atmosphere to get caught up in. We were also treated to the brass band making its way down Main Street which was nice.
On to meet Anna and Elsa as they are still in Fantasy Hall at the moment before moving to their new home at Epcot in the Summer. We almost went into the wrong room and met Cinderella, but thankfully were ushered the correct way. The queues got a little confusing at the end where they split and I was too busy looking at the glass slipper to turn right instead of left! Oops!
Anna and Elsa were great and Miss A really enjoyed meeting them, something we didn’t manage to do during our 2014 trip.
Time to go and meet the Beast! I was just a tad excited about this and it’s safe to say we had an amazing meal and experience. I would definitely return. I have gone into much more detail about our meal during this post.
Before dinner whilst we were queueing for Monster’s Inc Laugh floor, the ride experienced some technical difficulties and we were all asked to leave before the show began. In true Disney style everyone was offered a Fast Pass ticket which meant we could choose what we wanted to go on (or return for Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor), with some exceptions.
We decided to ride Big Thunder Mountain after dinner and Peter Pan’s flight. It was starting to get dusk and the ride feels so different in the dark which was amazing. There were also some great views as we whizzed around.
As we decided that it was time to leave the park, the walk ways were being cordoned off for the Main Street Electrical Parade and we kept being turned in a different direction. So much so, we walked around the Old Christmas shop three times before giving up trying to escape the crowds and resigning ourselves to walking down Main Street. Thankfully the cast members are great and understand people are leaving despite parades happening and they are skilled at letting you cross roads when it’s appropriate.
It was a long but amazing day today and I hadn’t wanted it to end!
