Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is the quick service dining location at Port Orleans French Quarter resort. You will walk into amazing Mardi Gras theming with sculptures and beads hanging from the ceiling.
The quick service location at this Disney World moderate resort is a decent size with plenty of seating inside and out. Whilst the ordering area is a little cramped, we worked out that if you collect your drink / snacks from the central station before queuing to order your main, it works better to then be able to join the queues to pay.

Sassagoula Floatworks quick service was refurbished in 2016 to become what it is now.
The way that French Quarter resort has it’s main lobby area set up, you will also be treated to some amazing jazz sounds from Scat Cats club lounge which is right next to Floatworks.
We were treated with this amazing music the first time we ever entered French Quarter resort, and the memory has stayed ever since.

Sassagoula Floatworks Menu
Breakfast
You can expect to find menu items such as French Toast served with warm fruit and cinnamon sugar. Perhaps the Big Easy breakfast is more your style which includes scrambled eggs with a choice of ham, bacon or sausage, and served with breakfast potatoes
Also on the menu for breakfast are omelets, pancakes, waffles and a small bakery selection of pastries and muffins.
We found that the pastries would run out quickly at breakfast time so it’s a good idea to go early if you’re wanting these.
Lunch
On the lunch menu served after 11am, you will find menu items such as Jambalaya, Shrimp and Grits and Gumbo as some of the specialities at Floatworks.

You will also find a large selection of burgers, including the famous Beignet burger which is topped with a Beignet bun.
Pizza is available as well as pasta dishes including shrimp arrabiata, chicken alfredo and Bayou lasagne.
If you’re looking for something a little lighter for lunch then perhaps a French Quarter house salad containing chicken on top of romaine lettuce and cornbread croutons with a creamy lemon parmesan vinaigrette.
Dinner
During dinner service from 5pm you can enjoy a selection of barbecue rib dishes and blackened rib eye steak dishes. These are served on selected nights of the week alternating with each other.
The remaining dinner menu stays the same as the lunch menu with all the previous items available.
There are some great unique items on the menu at Floatworks that you won’t be able to get in other quick service locations.
One of the main attractions is the Mickey shaped beignets, a mix between a croissant and a doughnut covered in sugar in the shape of Mickey heads. These are a great use of a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan when you are looking for a treat.

Sassagoula Floatworks and Floatworks Allergy Menu
If you’re looking for gluten free menu options at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, then you’ll have plenty to choose from.
The gumbo is a gluten free favourite, and anything on the menu can be adapted for food allergies. Even the Mickey shaped Beignets aren’t off limits, they will just be made to order for you upon request.
Favourite Items On The Menu
Some of our favourite items on the menu during our stay at Port Orleans French Quarter are the Beignet burgers which are a mix of sweet and savoury together. If you get the chance then this is a must try.
Any of the burgers on the menu are delicious, cooked fresh upon ordering, with plenty of toppings.
If you’d like a good filling snack option then the cup of gumbo is the way to go.
