Sunday 27th July 2014 – Disney World Florida Holiday Day 7
We all really needed a rest day today. It’s been a non stop week, so to avoid the burn out, we decided that today would be a lazy morning by the pool and taking a look at our surroundings of the hotel.
We chose to go to the smaller pool which is allocated just for our block of guests. Each “village” has its own pool and there is the large main pool for everyone to use as well. We were lucky that at any time there was only around half a dozen people in it. Often we were the only ones enjoying the space which was lovely.
The morning was just what was called for. I spent the time between lazing on a sun bed reading my book and when it got too hot, I went for a swim in the pool to cool off. A lovely relaxing morning. Miss A was so happy either playing with one of the adults or entertaining herself in the water.
Who suggested shopping? After lunch (quite a late lunch), we got showered and changed and hopped on a bus to Downtown Disney (now known as Disney Springs). We had $200 of gift cards to collect and spend so it would be rude not to.
There is a lot of work going on at Downtown Disney to create the new Disney Springs next year. I think because of all the boards up everywhere, we walked a lot further to get around than perhaps we would have needed to otherwise. I’m not sure the experience was a great one because of the work going on, but it was still nice to go into the World of Disney Store and get lost in all the merchandise.
I knew exactly what I wanted to buy. On my first visit to Magic Kingdom, I spotted a lady with an umbrella, black with very small white dots, scalloped edges and red bows. My allocation of the gift card was spent on this.
The rest of our time at Downtown Disney (Disney Springs) was spent walking from one end to the other. It was a very hot afternoon, and we all had to stop off for an ice cream on the way back to the bus.
Back to the hotel for a return trip to the pool. The day was just what we needed to recharge our batteries.

I love downtown Disney and the store there has everything, expecially love the Lego shop and have spent many hours building models there. Cant wait to go back and see what they are doing to it!
