Our 2018 Adventures

Where has this year gone? If I could have some of it back that would be amazing. Although there are some exciting plans in the air for 2019, so we are all looking forward to those. Our 2018 adventures saw us revisiting some favourite places, and also visiting some new places which is always exciting.

2018 was a year we didn’t go to Walt Disney World which is a bit sad, but yay for 2019 when we have an Easter trip planned. At the beginning of this year I deliberately booked lots of Fridays and Mondays off work so we could enjoy weekend breaks and see more of the UK. It didn’t quite go to plan, but it means more to attempt next year.

January and February were quiet for adventures, both Hubby and I lost the majority of January to the horrendous flu bug that was wiping people out. Once we started to feel better, we stayed local and made use of our National Trust membership

As March arrived and the weather became warmer, we revisited an old favourite and saw Mottisfont at Easter time and started to plan our upcoming weekend in Bath.

During April and the Easter holidays we spent a lovely weekend in Bath, a city neither of us had been to before yet always wanted to. We stayed at Bath Mill Lodge and spent the weekend being tourists, a particular favourite being the Bath open top bus tour.

We also found a new National Trust location to explore at Stourhead, a place so large we really have to go back again one day.

During May we stayed closer to home, but found lots of new places to explore with Lola. We had a great time at the Blue Pool in Wareham, Dorset, explored Kimmeridge beach and also spent some time at Upton Country Park.

June saw a visit to Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World which was great fun. I love being able to become a child again for the day and enjoy the rides.

Our first visit to Camp Bestival was a great experience in July, and despite the weather we cannot wait to visit again one day.

The Summer holidays arrived quickly and sped by way too quickly for my liking. We spent more time near to home including trying out Mighty Claws Adventure Golf in Bournemouth.It was a hot hot summer wasn’t it.

Back to school and preparing for Autumn activities, yet I managed a girls weekend away in September to Ruby Country lodges in Devon. It was a great place to stay if you want to get away from it all for a couple of days.

A busy schedule for Abby’s dance show meant a quiet time for adventures until it was time for the Christmas markets to start. We loved seeing Bournemouth’s Christmas Tree Wonderland this year, and are hoping to visit again before the end of the year.
