Did you know a pumpkin will last for ages without going rotten if it hasn’t been cut into? If you’re visiting a pumpkin patch in early October, store your pumpkin out of natural light in a cool place. This will keep it at its best before carving at Halloween.

Bourne Valley PYO

There’s a lot more than just pumpkin picking at Bourne Valley PYO. Nestled just outside the pretty village of St Mary Bourne, there are are various trails open during the year to walk.

Additional facilities include a farm cafe which serves tea, coffee, ice creams, shakes, smoothies, toasties, sandwiches and cakes.

The pumpkin harvest is at it’s best during October when you can pick pumpkins on weekends from 8am to 5pm and weekdays 12pm to 4pm.

Fordingbridge Pumpkin Pastures

Ringwood Rd, Slip Road, Fordingbridge SP6 1AN

A popular place for pumpkin picking in Hampshire is at Fordingbridge Pumpkin Pastures, which hosts much more than just PYO pumpkins.

You’ll find 30 different varieties of pumpkins to be picked during October as well as free parking and free entrance to the fields. Hot and cold food is available as well as seasonal crafts for the children.

In not so nice weather, the fields can be muddy and uneven so it’s advisable to dress for the weather and mud.

Fordingbridge Pumpkin Picking Patch

There are 10 acres of pumpkins to pick at the pumpkin picking patch in Fordingbridge. Also on offer is lots to create, make and take home. If you’re feeling brave, why not try the Halloween Maize Maze as well.

There is free parking and free entry, as well as refreshments available during your visit. as The Halloween maze requires pre booking, for their opening dates in October 2022. 

Also visit is the Twilight Halloween maze. For some spooky fun, book your tickets and explore until 9pm at night.

PYO pumpkins will be available during October for picking. Dogs are welcome on leads at Hollam Nurseries, with no need to pre book your visit. The site accepts cash and card, but dress for muddy weather if it’s been raining.

Pickwell Farm Pumpkin Picking

The pumpkins are generally ready for picking at the end of September at Pickwell farm. If you want to be prepared for Halloween, keep your eye on their Facebook page for the opening dates.

There is also a well stocked farm shop on site with plenty more than just seasonal fruit and vegetables available.

Rogate Pumpkin Patch

You’ll find this Hampshire pumpkin patch situated halfway between Midhurst and Petersfield.

As well as picking your own pumpkins, there’s plenty to see and do. You can also explore Merlin’s Wood and admire the halloween décor. Climb the  haystacks and enjoy the barrel rides and go-karts. Don’t forget the maze to get lost in.

Dogs on leads are welcome in the pumpkin fields at Steve Harris PYO. It’s advisable to wear wellies as the fields can get muddy if there’s been rain.
