I can’t believe it’s 2019 already. I’ve always got a never-ending list of places I would love to visit, and sometimes we manage to tick them off as the years go by, and others roll over onto the next year’s list. We had some lovely experiences in 2018, and I’m hoping for plenty more fun and adventure for 2019.
We’ve started the year off already with a visit to Longleat Safari Park and the Festival of Light. It’s been many years since we last visited and I was eager to visit again. Originally I wanted to visit on my birthday during 2018, however as my birthday is very close to Christmas, I left it too late to book and the dates were sold out that I wanted. Still we made up for that by going in the new year.
Driving past Center Parcs on our way into Longleat Safari Park, we all decided we would love to go back to Center Parcs this year as well, so some researching is needed for that.
Another place that keeps rolling over year to year is a visit to Harry Potter Studios in London. For one reason or another we never seem to be able to pin down a date for this one. I’m going to try really hard to rectify this this year.
We of course have our fourth visit to Walt Disney World this year, one that I am really looking forward to. I can’t quite believe how lucky we are to be able to keep returning, but as long as circumstances allow, I cannot see us stopping any time soon. How was it even five years ago we first visited?
With a big spend holiday to Disney World, this year, our Summer holidays will be spent closer to home. We are so lucky to live in an amazing part of the country, and we would love to spend more time in the South West, so I will be looking for some great places to visit during our road trip.
Abby has requested another trip to Bath as she enjoyed it so much last year. I think we’ll hopefully visit in the Summer this time rather than the Spring. We are toying with the idea of a South West road trip during the Summer holidays and if I manage to get that all together, Bath will be on the itinerary.
Some new experiences on my bucket list for 2019 are to try Glamping. I’m not a natural camper, but Glamping sounds appealing, so I am hoping to book a few nights away when the weather warms up.
We were lucky enough to visit Camp Bestival last year and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m toying with the idea of visiting again this year, although we haven’t made our minds up completely about this yet.
Abby is visiting France with school this year, and she has always said she doesn’t want us to visit Disneyland Paris before she gets the chance to visit with school. In my mind I would love to be able to book a few days in Paris near the end of the year to be able to experience Disneyland Paris for myself.
When I write my travel plans posts, I sometimes get carried away with myself and then realise that we have run out of funds, or annual leave from work to be able to manage all of them. If time and finances allow, I would also love to start visiting more of the UK’s theme parks this year.
Visiting Disney World has encouraged the thrill seeker in Abby and I think she’s get a lot out of the bigger rides now. Our last UK theme park visit as a family was to Legoland, and that was far too long ago.
