My 2017 Walt Disney World Bucket List

The weeks are flying past at the moment and it doesn’t seem real that it’s just a few short weeks until we return to Walt Disney World for the third time. When I booked last year, it seemed so far away, and I’m not sure I thought the time would actually arrive. As with every trip I make my Walt Disney World Bucket List just in case we don’t get to go again, and despite being lucky enough to have been twice, there is still so much I want to see and try.

This year I have been planning a little differently, and whilst we have booked some amazing restaurants that we haven’t tried before, we’re also going back for dinner at Be Our Guest as we enjoyed it so much the first time around. Abby really enjoyed collecting pressed pennies on our last trip, and this time I have looked a little closer at the maps to be able to find some sets of pressed pennies that we would like as souvenirs.

Merchandise

This year I want to collect the Starbucks mugs from each park. There are more than four available however I will be happy with one from each of the main parks.

Last year I spotted a resort water bottle which I really liked, so this year as we visit some of the resorts, I am going to purchase one. I don’t think it’ll be from the resort we’re staying at however as the Caribbean Beach Resort water bottle was green and the colour didn’t appeal to me. I may purchase it from one of the deluxe resorts!

Last year I was also coveting a Lumiere candlestick and Cogsworth clock, but after searching everywhere it seemed there was a stock shortage and the nearest stock allocation was Paris! This year I am hoping to be able to add to my Beauty and The Beast collection.

Food And Drink

I have been collating a list of some of the snack items I want to try this year. I’m sure this will expand as we find more, but the following items are foods and drinks that I keep thinking about but keep forgetting to try.

From Magic Kingdom, I would like to try a jacket potato from Liberty Square. This may seem like a strange food item to want to try in Disney however as a snack credit this is going to make a great value lunch item without parting with a meal credit. I also want to try a funnel cake this year, as this is also a snack credit and they look huge. This will be a great breakfast item as we’re not planning on eating breakfast at Caribbean Beach Resort this year due to the construction happening. I will be returning to get my favourite snack so far, the dole whip float, and also Le Fou’s Brew which we tried last year and loved.

From Animal Kingdom I would like to use a snack credit on chicken fried rice from yak and Yeti quick service as I have heard such great things about it. We have a meal booked in the Yak and Yeti restaurant later in the holiday as well which I am excited about. I would also like to try loaded fries with pulled pork and cheese. Sounds delicious.

From Epcot, I can’t wait to try the new sundaes from the Taste Track kiosk. With offerings such as apple pie and caramel, my mouth is already salivating. Any excuse for an ice cream eh?

Pressed Pennies

We have decided we are going to collect the Seven Dwarfs pressed penny collection. This will take us to seven different locations and I am hoping to fit them all in. We will have to visit Magic Kingdom, The Polynesian Resort, Epcot, Yacht and Beach Club, Port Orleans Riverside and The Wilderness Lodge. It’s going to be a great way to see some of the other resorts that we haven’t seen before. We did pop over to the Polynesian last year but the rest of the resorts will be new to us.

Attractions

This year is very exciting for us as we have tickets to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. I didn’t think we would ever get to see Disney dressed in its Halloween attire or attend the party, however the Disney Gods were smiling down on us this year and we are still there when the first parties start for the year. I need to decide on outfits for us all yet, but within the party, I really want to meet the Seven Dwarfs as they only appear for photos together during the Halloween and Christmas parties.  I also can’t wait to see the different parades that the party has to offer. This is probably what I am most excited about.

Also during this trip, I have booked a meal at the popular show Hoop De Doo Revue. A show and a meal, this has been on my list for the last two trips and I always said one day we would do it. This year we are!

There are so many exciting things happening on this trip, I just hope we don’t wear ourselves out too much and find time to beat the August heat and enjoy some pool time as well. I’ll return after our holiday to update on how well we ticked items off this years bucket list.

  1. How exciting ! I last visited in 2009 and my kids were collecting the pin badges and the pressed pennies which they still have. I think one of the best parts of going to Disney is all the planning.
