Ideas For A Honeymoon In Florida

When I got married seven years ago, we hadn’t thought of having a honeymoon in a far away destination, and we honeymooned in Majorca which worked really well for us at the time. If I had my time over again, I would definitely choose Florida as a honeymoon destination.

My love for Florida is widely known to readers of this blog, and there are so many amazing places to see and visit in Florida that would make for an amazing honeymoon.

I would definitely start my Florida honeymoon adventure by finding the perfect place to stay using a travel website such as destination2.co.uk. Once we had determined where we wanted to have as a base for our honeymoon, then it would be on to the planning.

I would love to explore Florida for at least three weeks if work and family commitments allowed. Imagine how much we could experience in that amount of time.

Swimming With Dolphins At Discovery Cove - The Life Of Spicers

Discovery Cove

We have been lucky enough to swim with dolphins at Discovery Cove on a previous visit to Florida, and this would feature high on our agenda to experience whilst on honeymoon. For a special trip thought, I would definitely go all out and hire a cabana to make the day even more special.

Walt Disney World

No visit to Florida would be without a visit to the happiest place on earth, so any Florida honeymoon would have to include a visit to Magic Kingdom. In fact I would probably plan a week in the Disney Parks, experiencing some amazing meals and enjoying the magic that Walt Disney World has to offer.

Clearwater Beach

I have heard amazing stories about Clearwater beach, and would love to include this on any special Florida holiday. Clearwater Beach is three miles long and lined with amazing restaurants and bars, meaning it would provide a great opportunity to end the visit with an amazing meal or drink with some stunning views.

Universal Studios

We have never visited Universal Studios, but it would definitely feature on a Florida honeymoon itinerary. I think we would stagger the theme parks with rest and relaxation days to make sure a honeymoon didn’t;t turn into a crazy busy theme park holiday.

Anna Maria Island

Anna Maria Island is on Florida’s Gulf Coast, a barrier island that is known for its stunning views and sandy beaches. I have only ever seen pictures but would love the chance to visit one day. It would be the perfect excuse to spend a few days on honeymoon after a road trip to the island.

I think I could spend weeks if not months honeymooning in Florida if the time allowed. Florida is an amazing part of the world and one that I hope to be able to explore in much more detail over the next few years.

How would you honeymoon in Florida?
