Monster High Frankie Stein Dress Designer Doll Review

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ll know that Miss A likes her dolls with a difference, especially the Monster High and Ever After High range of dolls. The latest addition to her collection is Frankie Stein, but this time Frankie Stein comes with her own range of clothing to be designed by Miss A.

Frankie Stein Dress Designer Doll comes includes Frankie Stein the doll (I think her parents are self-explanatory by her name), four additional outfits, a selection of pens, stickers and stencils to use to design a range of unique clothing for Frankie Stein.

The pens aren’t the type that will disappear in the wash so it’s important to understand when you have drawn on the dresses that is their permanent design.

Frankie Stein as a doll in her own right is well made. Her limbs are moveable but not as flexible as other Monster High dolls in such that her wrists aren’t flexible. Miss A pointed this out straight away and noticed that this made it slightly more difficult to put a new dress onto Frankie Stein when she was dressing her. That aside, she is a great addition to any Monster High collection, and the bonus is that the dolls are all the same size so you have additional outfits for your other Monster High dolls if you would like them.

Miss A was really looking forward to receiving this as she has seen the adverts and loves anything creative so when the set arrived she was straight into it picking out the first dress to design. The pens are much like felt tip pens and bleed ever so slightly when placed onto the material of the dresses, but using the stencils helps to keep this under control. Miss A did draw some freehand to her first dress and you could see the bleeding slightly when she had finished.

The dresses are presented on clever cardboard coat hanger cut outs which have actually made the range of dresses very easy to store when not on the doll. They can also be stored with the hook at the top which helps keep everything neat. I soon spotted Miss A getting out all the accessories from her other Monster High dolls and was creating a very unique wardrobe for Frankie Stein.

The Monster High Frankie Stein Dress Designer doll retails for around £24 which is slightly higher than if you were to buy a standard doll from the range, but the fact that you can use the dresses between dolls is a great plus for Miss A. She did find it slightly difficult to change the dresses due to the snug size of them, but the material is stretchy which helps a lot. I think perhaps just a velcro strip down the back of the dresses you get to design would help as Frankie’s original turquoise outfit has this and is removed and put back on very easily.

I have included a video of Miss A using the Frankie Stein Dress Designer set below if you would like to see it in action.

Disclosure – we received the set free of charge but all opinions are our own
