Beauty And The Beast Live On Stage

Beauty and the Beast is my all time favourite Disney film, so when we walked through Hollywood Studios on our first day in Disney last year, I sub consciously made a bee line for Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage despite not really knowing where it was located in the park.

The 1500 seat theatre which is laid out in long tiered benches has a cover to protect from the sun and the rain, but we found that it still got very hot with lots of bodies in one place at the same time. You can get Fast Pass for the show, but we didn’t think it was needed as we walked in with the queue ten minutes before the show was due to start and because the layout of the theatre meant people could walk down either side and through the middle, the  queues diverted themselves very quickly and there was space even when the show started. We were seated around half way up and on the right hand side. I think we got a perfect view of everything going on. The fast pass section was roped off in the centre, but I honestly wouldn’t waste a fast pass.

The show lasts for around twenty minutes as takes you through the story of Belle and the Beast. I honestly don’t know how the cast members cope in the extreme heat in their lavish costumes, but everything is done so well and you wouldn’t have a clue that someone must be melting inside the costumes.

The show features five songs from the film which really transports you back to the Disney magic including “Be Our Guest”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Something There”, and “Kill The Beast”.

Every single cast member was a brilliant actor and the smiles never left their faces in the appropriate scenes. I like seeing Belle in both her costumes to show her transformation.

We were all mesmerised through the whole show, and Miss A had a great smile on her face throughout which was great to watch as I checked on her. I was fascinated with Chip and Mrs Potts and I couldn’t believe I couldn’t see their feet through the bottom of the costumes especially as they walked up and down the steps.

The show is on a few times a day, but it’s a good idea to check out the weekly times guide at the park before you go. We will definitely go back to see it again next year. Miss A thought it was great to watch this in Hollywood Studios and then go and meet Belle in Magic Kingdom the next day.
