When we were looking for a hotel to stay in during our weekend in Majorca, we w only had a few requirements. It needed to be clean, offer an all-inclusive package, have a triple room and have spa facilities should the weather turn. The Azuline Hotel Bahamas in El Arenal ticked all those boxes and we booked after reading positive reviews online.
Azuline Hotel Bahamas Hotel Overview
The Azuline Hotel Bahamas is located in the El Arenal area of Majorca, just 15 minutes or so away from Palma airport. The hotel has 239 rooms, which consist of single, double and triple rooms. There is free wifi in the lobby area, an onsite restaurant, bar, outdoor seating, pool and spa facilities with a gym.
We specifically requested a triple room, and upon checking in we realised we actually had four beds in the room. It was a little bit of a squeeze, however we were using the room as a base and it worked fine for what we needed.
Alongside the main twin beds, there were two put you up beds also in the room, a wardrobe area with plenty of hanging space, safe, en suite bathroom, balcony and drawers for your clothes.
The hotel is situated near the crest of a hill, and despite having good signage we didn’t spot it immediately from our transfer bus. The main entrance is located to the side of the building next to the car park, and once you enter the large double doors, you almost feel as though you have stepped into a little piece of luxury.
The Azuline Hotel Bahamas is a three star hotel, but it immediately feels like a four star hotel in the lobby. Large and spacious, we were greeted by friendly staff as we checked in. The wifi is only free in the lobby area, but there was plenty of comfy sofas and places to sit.
We found this to be really convenient as the lobby area was also very central to everything else in the hotel, meaning we were always near it or passing through it on our way to the pool, restaurant or bar.
For a hotel on the smaller scale, the Hotel Azuline Bahamas has plenty of facilities for the guests. As we mentioned we wanted spa facilities in case the weather turned, and as such didn’t need them, however if you wish to use the indoor facilities, it just takes a request at reception and they will prepare it for you.
Located to the rear of the lobby area is doors directly to the outside patio area next to the evening bar. This also has plenty of comfy sunbeds and chairs to relax on during the day. The patio area is also used for the chef to cook the snacks which included hot dogs, burgers and quesiladas to order.
The bar on this level is one from 6pm onwards and becomes the evening entertainment. During the day the pool bar is open on the lower level of the hotel, next to the restaurant and pool.
There is also a games room and small arcade next to the bar under cover, which would be popular during inclement weather.
The pool isn’t huge and there is only one. The hotel suggests there is a children’s pool but really this is an extension of the main pool. A rectangular pool, plenty big enough for swimming lengths in, but we found it to be very cold.
The hotel is North facing and the pool didn’t get the sun until at least midday. We did swim but we didn’t stay in for long periods at a time.
Food and Drink
The Hotel Azuline Bahamas has one restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant is served buffet style and is quite large, light and airy. We found there was a decent amount of variety in the foods, however the choices and temperatures weren’t always up to scratch.
The menus had some questionable items on them, and the quality of the foods was sometimes a little lacking. That being said we did find some gems on the buffet each meal time.
The homemade bread which is made on site is amazing, and we would often end up with bread and salads with some meat for our lunch.
The hot dishes seemed to be lending themselves to suiting local tastes rather than providing for everyone.
Another thing we all really enjoyed in the restaurant was the choices of drinks available on tap. There was a choice of soft drinks, white wine, local beer, red wine and sangria at every meal. Coffee and tea was available during the breakfast sitting.
We were always able to find a seat in the restaurant and the only time we really struggled and had to wait in a queue was for coffee in the morning.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, none os us could fault the cleaning standards at all. Our room was cleaned daily, and the whole hotel was immaculate and shining. Even the outside pool toilets were always clean which was brilliant.
If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in El Arenal and you’re looking for something clean and tidy with friendly staff then I can highly recommend the Azuline Hotel Bahamas.
We had a great stay and would opt to stay again, we would just tweak our stay by eating offsite a little more. However this wouldn’t be a problem as there are so many restaurants nearby, and the beach is just a 10 minute walk down the hill where you can find a plethora of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.
The Hotel Azuline Bahamas would make a great base for anyone wishing to get out and about and explore what El Arenal has to offer. If you’re looking to stay somewhere with plenty of facilities for children then this probably isn’t the hotel for you.
