A Christmas market is a very festive day (or night) out. There are some great Christmas markets in Dorset to experience this year. Festive Christmas markets have become very popular over recent years.
Traditionally as street markets celebrate Christmas, you can expect to find plenty of hand made gift ideas, festive and local food and drinks. There’s also generally plenty of entertainment on offer as well.

Bournemouth Christmas Market

The Bournemouth Christmas market is a huge crowd pleaser. You’ll find plenty of Alpine outdoor stall selling a wide variety of local produce, gifts and food and drink. It’s not all about the Christmas stalls, as there’s also the amazing Christmas Tree Wonderland to visit through the town and Lower Gardens.
Brewery Square’s Christmas Market

Visit Brewery Square for the Christmas market between 11am and 3pm on 10th December. There will be plenty of traders and not forgetting the surrounding shops for your Christmas shopping in Dorset.
Dorchester Christmas Cracker
Dates: 10th December 2023
The day will be filled with stalls and entertainment for the whole family. High Street East/West will be closed for the market and the craft fair will be in the Corn Exchange.
Littledown Christmas Market
Date: 26th November 2023
On Sunday 26th November 2023, you’ll find a wide range of stalls selling Christmas gifts. There will be plenty of great festive treats to temp you from local artisan food and drink, so handcrafted gift ideas.
Longthorns Christmas Market
Dates: 11th – 12th November 2023
There is FREE entry to Longthorns Christmas market. The bar will be open for hot and cold drinks and food. As well as the fantastic stalls offering seasonal goods, you’ll be treated to a performance from Wareham Town Band.
Mapperton Christmas Market
Location: The Coach House at Mapperton

Between 26th – 27th November 2022, you can enjoy the magic of Mapperton Estate at Christmas. There will be plenty of fantastic stalls focusing on local products and delicious food and drink. You can also explore the Mapperton Gardens in winter!
Poole’s Maritime Christmas
Dates: 25th November 2023 – 2nd January 2024
As pert of the Maritime Christmas festival in Poole there will be a Christmas market with festive food, funfair attractions and street music.
Poundbury Christmas Market

Visit Poundbury Christmas market on Saturday 3rd December 2022 for the Christmas Market. This always falls on Small Business Saturday, the first Saturday in December. There’s a new location for 2022 in Crown Square

The Christmas market at Shire Hall is free to enter. The market will host over 30 businesses, selling everything from food and drink to jewellery and photography.
Tank Museum Dorset Christmas Fair
Dates: 18th – 19th November 2023
On 18th and 19th November, the Tank Museum in Wareham is hosting a Dorset Christmas Fair. There will be live entertainment, the opportunity to buy unique Christmas gifts from local makers and sellers and get in the Christmas spirit with the food market and festive food from onsite cafe and restaurant.
