Miss A prefers getting her scooter out than her bike. It’s smaller, quicker, and it fits in the back of the car a lot easier than her bike. She often scoots from the car into school most days and uses it when we are taking the dog for a walk around the block.
Some scooters are built for tricks whilst others aren’t, so it’s important that if Miss A wishes to learn some new tricks and tips then she would have to make sure her scooter is up to the job. She only rides her scooter with me at the moment, but we have a great scooter park near us that we haven’t been to yet. It would be a great place to try and practice some new tricks though.
My top 3 tips to learn new tricks on your scooter are:
- Wear the correct safety gear when learning new tricks. You are more than likely going to fall off and it’s important not to hurt yourself more than necessary.
- Practice in a safe place. On the pavements probably isn’t the best place to learn new tricks on a scooter. Try the park instead.
- Start small by mastering some easier techniques before trying to do a full 360 spin on your scooter.
If you’re not sure which scooter is the best for what you want to achieve, check out Halford’s scooter range.

What a great chart to find out! Both my kids not great at scooting. This chart will help me to choose.
thanks, hope you find a suitable one for them
