We like to enjoy a little tipple in our house on occasion. I’m more of a wine person, whereas hubby likes his lager. Recently he has been drinking flavoured lager, which he seems to like the taste of, and also the alcohol content is lower than other lagers.
We’ve been trying out Carling’s new Hint of Winter Berries lager which comes in 330ml bottles. It’s appearance straight away tells you it’s not going to be the average bottle of Lager when you pick up a packet in the supermarket.
It looks ever so slightly darker in appearance than some of its sibling lager’s, but there is a lovely aroma when you open the bottle. Winter Berries is the newest edition to the flavoured lagers from Carling. There is already a hint of citrus flavour which hubby has been drinking for a few months now and buys often.
Winter Berries isn’t as strong as the citrus flavour, but it’s very moreish and doesn’t have the strong lager taste that I tend to find leaves an aftertaste every time I drink lager.
Hubby has been enjoying a different flavour of berries instead of citrus and he says it makes a nice change to drink lager that mixes up the flavours on his taste buds.
This range from Carling are a good idea for socialising, where something different is required to drink, yet the alcohol content isn’t as high.
Disclosure – we received the lager free of charge but all opinions are our own
