As a family, we love getting out and about. We know we’re very lucky to have been able to visit Disney
We have visited plenty of places such as Durdle Door that have a campsite attached, and I have often thought that would be a nice place for my first camping experience as an adult. It’s not too far from home and has plenty of places for Lola to be able to enjoy herself as well. I know we will attempt to have a couple of nights away camping this Summer, I just need to think about what we need to start our camping adventures off.
I’ve been collating a list in my new bullet journal for ideas on what we may need when we go camping, but also Halfords have a great guide for anyone wanting to go camping, beginners or otherwise. I was lucky enough to win a Weber barbecue last year on Twitter, so we don’t have to purchase disposables or a new barbecue for camping.
The biggest purchase we will have to make is the tent itself. We have a small three man tent I think it is that we have slept in in the garden before, but it wasn’t big enough for me, especially when Miss A likes to roll over in the night. I remember waking up squished into the corner and I managed to wake everyone up just by trying to move a little bit, so a new tent will definitely be on the shopping list. We have to make sure there is room for Lola as well.
As we discuss the option of going camping, I am becoming more open to the idea as it’s all about providing experiences and adventure for Miss A and us as a family. I am determined to make sure I have as many creature comforts as I possibly can from home such as taking duvets rather than sleeping bags. I am aware they will take up more room, but they are definitely cosier for sleeping in. I might even get some use out of the really thick onesie that I can never wear at home as I get too hot in it.
So as we’re preparing for our first camping trip do you have any tips for me?
