Miss A is beginning to add to her variety of dolls in her room now. I thought she was passed the doll stage, but if the doll is a little quirky and different then it seems she likes them and play with them more. Monster High Freak Du Chic dolls fit the requirements perfectly. Miss A received Honey Swamp recently to add to her collection. She already has Clawdeen Wolf and Bay Tidechaser from the Monster High range, and they fit well with the Ever After High dolls such as Blondie Locks.
Honey Swamp is the daughter of the Honey Island Swamp monster. She is a marionette with puppet strings hanging from each wrist.
There are six different Freak Du Chic dolls which have been created around a circus theme when the circus has arrived at Monster High. When the Monster High dance is in danger of being cancelled the Freak Du Chic dolls have to step in to save the day.
Honey Swamp is dressed in a stylish skeletal dress with layers and netting. She also comes with knee high roller skate boots which make quite a statement. Miss A loves the roller boots on Honey Swamp, but she mentioned that when she plays with Honey without the boots, her lefts feel a little too plasticky compared to other Monster High Dolls she has played with.
Honey’s hair is styled in bunches, and whilst it’s normal for girls to take the hair bands out of dolls hair when they start playing with them, especially as they want to brush them, we both decided that Honey’s hair may be best left in their bunches as we weren’t sure if we would be able to get it back to look that good again.
All of the limbs are fully flexible on Honey which makes her a great doll to work with when using the puppet strings. I think from a parental point of view, that when dolls have their own background story, it helps spark the imagination in the children. Miss A is happy to interact Honey with the other Monster High dolls to make up her own stories, but she also re enacts the circus themed Freak Du Chic dance using Honey’s puppet skills which is fun to listen to.
Honey Swamp retails for £19.99. She’s well made, sturdy and doesn’t appear cheap which makes a good gift idea or an addition to a collection.
Disclosure – we received the doll free of charge but all opinions are our own
