I don’t know about your families, but during the week we are all really busy with school, work, after school clubs, homework, housework, walking the dog. The list really does go on doesn’t it! Family time is precious and whilst we do try to all eat a meal together round the table on at least four nights of the week, it doesn’t happen as often as we’d like it to. When it gets to the weekend, we are strategic with our time so that when Miss A has finished gymnastics club just after lunch time, we have the rest of the weekend to spend as a family.
Thanks to the success of watching all Harry Potter movies, we have been setting aside Saturday evening for a family film night to make the most of the family time we have available to us. Sometimes we choose a Disney film, and when there is good Saturday night TV on, then we’ll skip the movie and go for a TV show instead. The rules are very simple though. We’re all in our pyjamas by 7pm, the blankets are on the sofa. We’ve usually had something yummy for dinner such as steak and chips for Hubby and I, and gammon and chips for Miss A. We each get a choice of sweets or popcorn that has been purchased earlier in the day, and I may or may not have a nice chilled glass of white wine.
I look forward to our Saturday nights now it seems to make the busyness of the weeks more bearable. How do you make the most of family time?
