Lola’s First Taste Of The Snow

Whilst the rest of the country it appears have had snow over the last few weeks, the south didn’t get any until a surprise visit on Tuesday morning. Hubby is usually on the ball with all things weather and even he didn’t know about it which was funny. We didn’t get a huge amount, but it was enough to give Lola her first experience.

We sent Miss A out in the garden before taking her to school as we thought it might be all gone by the time she came home in the afternoon (and we were right), so she didn’t get too long to play but I think both her and Lola enjoyed the time they got together.

Usually if there’s any whisper of snow then schools close immediately, but every school in the area appeared to be open today. It was positive to see schools responding by staying open, but it was a little disappointing that Miss A said they were allowed out in the playground at break time, but not at lunch time because by then the snow was turning to slush.

Have you been enjoying the snow?

Oh wow, didn’t realise anywhere in the south had any snow! My two would so love to see snow, they saw some on the news and kept asking me when we’d get some but unfortunately we never get any here.

That’s a shame, we don’t often get a lot but it’s nice when we do.

We haven’t had enough so to do anything with, and the boy is desperate to try out the sledge he built last year at B&Q! Its snowing now but not settling so I’m not holding out hope this year!

You’re too close to the sea aren’t you. It’s lovely for the visits, but you always seem to miss out on the snow

We had a little on Tuesday too but, like you, it quickly disappeared! Looks like they had fun whilst it lasted!

I think we had enough to keep them both happy thankfully, and not enough to deter me from driving my car.

No we didnt have any snow and I have snow envy! I want my son to experience touching snow as he was really really young when it snowed here 2 years ago. #countrykids

Our spotty dog had her first taste as snow, she loved catching the snowflakes.
