Did you know it’s National Chocolate Week this week? Not that I need any excuse to eat chocolate to be honest, but I couldn’t really say no to testing out some of Guylian’s new chocolate ranges. Guylian have a newly launched online webshop with products that are not available to buy in the shops, and I couldn’t wait to try out all the yummy praline chocolates.
All of Guylian’s chocolate are produced in Belguim, and when the company was founded, the seahorse shaped chocolates became their trademark and what they were known for.
In each standard 250g box there are 22 chocolate each shaped as shells and seahorses. The colours running through each chocolate is lovely in itself, and it almost makes you not want to spoil that by eating them……….
I did say almost……….
Each chocolate contains a praline filling, which is like velvet on your tongue. The flavour is quite intense and you really do have to eat these chocolates slowly to appreciate the full flavour and taste.
I find that you shouldn’t eat too many in one sitting, as they can become a little sickly if you eat too many at a time. That said, it’s a little difficult to just stop at one.
Due to the prettyness of these chocolates, they are great gift ideas as well. You don’t have to worry about the recipient not liking certain varieties in the box as they are all the same, and the box is designed so you can see the chocolates through a clear panel before you open the box which I think is a lovely idea.
All of Guylian’s chocolates are suitable for vegetarians, the seashells contain hazelnuts and are not gluten free.
They get a big thumbs up from me. Enjoy National Chocolate Week.
Disclosure – we received the chocolates free of charge, but all opinions are my own.
