I didn’t wait for January to get ready to get fit this year because I knew if I made it part of my New Years Resolutions then I wouldn’t stick to it. Instead I started attending a fitness class once a week in October / November time. At the beginning of December I increased this to two classes a week in preparation for improving my overall health and fitness.
Don’t get me wrong I didn’t find this easy by any means and I still don’t. The class I did between the Christmas and New Year period was very difficult and I ached for days afterwards, but it’s almost a routine for me now and it’s normal to come home from work and get changed into exercise clothes rather than put pyjamas on if I know I don’t have to leave the house again.
As I type this I am ready to go to a toning class tonight which is a class I wouldn’t have considered doing a few months ago, but by trying out a cardio based class and realising it wasn’t as difficult as I thought it may be and that actually other people there are just as uncoordinated as me then it gave me the confidence to try out a different class as well.
I have learnt that by attending classes that I need to get some new workout clothes. Some of mine is a little old now and I do like to make sure I am comfortable. I have virtually shopped the above outfit to be purchased in the next month, and also purchased myself a new Fitbit to encourage myself.
A Hi-vis jacket keeps me warm when I am leaving the house to travel to the class but I also reason that if I am out running when it is dusk then this will help to keep me safe.
I prefer to wear capri trousers rather than full length trousers as I get quite warm when exercising, and I also prefer to have capped tee shirt sleeved tops as I don’t like my shoulders very much.
A decent training bra is a must for my exercise outfit as I really believe you should be comfortable when you’re exercising and no-one wants to see high leg socks in those trainers do they!
The Fitbit is an additional accessory to my new exercise outfit as I have seen some friends with them recently and I have been impressed at what they offer so I have decided to find out for myself.
As my fitness improves, I will be in a good place to start training for the Moon Walk this year.
