I know I have mentioned that I will be taking a long weekend break very soon (this weekend in fact) to Majorca celebrating my 40th birthday with my best friends. We have had this holiday in our minds for a couple of years but only started looking around in January.
We knew we wanted to wait until the weather in Europe was a little warmer, and we also wanted to find a good price. There are so many different options on the internet to find holiday prices that it can get a little overwhelming, Prices I was finding were different to what my friends were spotting, and we were getting a little lost in finding a great deal on a weekend break.
I’ve recently been introduced to a new concept which enables users to search for live flights by double clicking the escape button on your keyboard. EscEscape is currently available as a free Chrome extension in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, with plans for a Safari extension coming shortly. Double click the escape button on your keyboard and you can find live flight information from your local destination airport for weekend breaks within the next two months.
Immediately I can see the appeal of the speed and ease the extension offers. If you’re looking for some inspiration then you’re bound to find it. If the price is right then it would be difficult to say no wouldn’t it. I did spot that although the extension chooses your current location to search for your nearest airport, the dates don’t always fit with the search options. For example, my local airport is quite small so a flight to a random search on a random picked date may never exist. There is the option to manually add in your dates and preferred airport which may be the option to choose before double clicking the escape button. Larger airports definitely return more choice in searches.
Do you tend to search for weekend breaks based on price or location? I generally have an idea of the location I want to travel to, however by using the extension for a few minutes the options that have been returned to me have sparked some curiosity to find out more about the locations presenting themselves. If you’re seeking some escapism then I can see plenty of lunch hours being wasted away searching for a great deal on a weekend break.
Where will you travel to next?
