When I was thinking about our big
I knew I wanted the cake to be part of the big reveal so I asked for some personalised text to be included on the cake. I also wanted an image of a castle, however I couldn’t find one that I wanted on the website. A quick email later, and a proof design landed in my inbox. For me if was just what I was looking for, however I could have made changes if I wanted to. I thought this was a great addition to the service.
As I have mentioned we have the letterbox cake, which costs £14.99 in a choice of traditional sponge, rich chocolate chip, lovely lemon drizzle, gluten wheat free sponge, dairy free sponge, or fabulous fruit. I chose the traditional sponge as I know Abby likes that. The cakes can be ordered by 2pm for next day delivery, or in advance. I ordered mine in advance with a delivery date for 5th June. The cake arrived on 3rd June, packaged well in cellophane and inside a tin. Also included are balloons and candles which are a great touch to save having to purchase a pack of candles.
As I used the cake for the big reveal, we ended up cutting the cake and each having a piece there and then. The cake happily cut into 8 small portions, each with just the right amount of fondant icing on. The sponge was light and airy and very tasty. We ended up having seven people in the room at the time the cake was cut, so just enough for Abby to have two pieces as it was her birthday cake. Everybody commented on how nice the cake was.
From the design process to the delivery, I was very impressed with the service Bakerdays offer. I was looking for that something different that I hadn’t found anywhere, and bakerdays delivered. The cake was fresh and tasty when it arrived, and I can’t comment on how long it may last after opening as we ate it all in one go, but it was the perfect cake for the perfect occasion.
