I was determined this Summer holidays to be organised for the new school term starting before we went on holiday. I can safely say I failed! Admittedly I didn’t need to buy a lot this year, but that’s not the point. Thankfully Jake Shoes came to the rescue with their range of school shoes.
Jake Shoes are an independent family run store, who have been open since 1975. Operating two stores, one in Manchester and the other in Stockport, as well as the online store stocking a great range of men’s, ladies and kids shoes.
School shoes is an area I won’t compromise on with Abby. Despite leaving first school for middle school last year, I still insist her school shoes are sturdy and sensible. Thankfully she hasn’t been lured into the fashion range by any peers yet. We often agree on styles which is a miracle because our taste in clothes is very different.
I was perusing the range of girls school shoes online with jake shoes a few weeks ago, and was very impressed at the range. From brands such as Dr Martins to Lelli Kelly there is something for everyone, even a fussy Abby. We settled on some Lelli Kelly’s, and despite Abby not wanting the fancy bows on her shoes (I mean come on Mum that’s not cool now is it)!, I loved the fact that the shoes would come with changeable straps, meaning the bows could be changed for plain straps.
Also from a sneaky Mum perspective, if the shoes were going to go through the mill like they invariably do during the school year, I was always going to have an emergency spare strap if needed.
Jake Shoes offer competitive pricing against larger shoe chains which was a bonus, as I do wonder sometimes if the prices are reflected in smaller independent shops, not in this case however.
As we’re not near the bricks and mortar stores, it’ll be online shopping for us. The website has some great incentives if you are shopping online such as 10% off your first order, free next working day delivery on orders over £40 and a price match promise. All incentives are offers I would look for when shopping online, as every penny saved helps doesn’t it.
**we were gifted a pair of shoes in return for this post, however all opinions are our own**
