As we continue our journey
We spent some time in the garden after Lola was poorly to remove all the stones from our borders. Lola is a stone eater and we were worried she may have swallowed one that had gotten stuck which caused the sickness. Thankfully this wasn’t the case, but we decided to give the garden a clear up anyway.
Miss A was very helpful during the afternoon, removing stones and placing them in buckets for us. Her attention waned a little but we expected that, and she was searching for bugs so we left her to it.
After spotting a caterpillar, and catching a spider in a pot, her attention turned to snails. The stones seemed to turn up quite a few snails of varying sizes so Miss A started to transfer them to her trampoline to keep them safe from Lola.
She has always liked to find creepy crawlies and hold them in her hands. I think I was the same at her age, but definitely not so much now. Miss A decided she was going to race her snails to see which would be the fastest. After finding some twigs to make the start and finish line, we left the snails to it to see what they would do.
One of the smaller snails was surprisingly speedy, and he shot off way ahead of the others. The race probably only lasted around five minutes and little speedy had won the race. The other snails decided to go off in their own direction and didn’t actually make it to the finish line.
Miss A had great fun completing something so simple that is literally on the doorstep.
