We are very lucky living near some amazing places to visit in the South Of England. Hengistbury
We visited again this week as it’s Easter Holidays and whilst we were there, Miss A was exploring, climbing trees and running in and out of the water along the beach. Once home, I was tidying up and came across a book I won a couple of years ago from the National Trust featuring 50 things to do before you’re 11 3/4. Reading through it, I saw that we had crossed off a couple of challenges whilst at Hengistbury Head, so Miss A and I have decided that we will see how many of the activities we can achieve together this year.
We found lots of trees along the path from the car park to the beach area, some were small enough to just climb off the ground as they were over turned trees, but others were high enough that we could leave Miss A there if we chose to ;).
As we neared the beach there was plenty of option for jumping over some waves and building large sand castles. It was a little chilly, but fun all the same.
As it was so windy, the waves were quite high at certain times even right on the shore line. Miss A was a little cautious as she nearly got caught out a couple of times and missed getting very wet and cold by more luck than judgement I think.
Despite the cold weather and the wind, we had a great time, and are looking forward to seeing which activities we can tick off our 50 things to do before you’re 11 3/4 list next.
