We went to see Santa this week. We seem to go to the same place each year, and always take a visit to see the reindeer first. The grotto is laid out really well and we take a walk through the Winter Wonderland after giving an elf our ticket.
We must have picked a really good time this year as we weren’t rushed, and there was no queue in the wonderland meaning we got to stop and look at everything around us without feeling pushed and shoved, or missed anything as the queue moves.
Once we reached the entrance to see Santa we were met with two elves. One elf spent a couple of minutes asking Miss A her name, how old she was, whether she had been good etc. Then they did something that made this visit to Santa worth every penny. She asked Miss A what toys she liked and gauged her answers to pick the gift she would receive as we worked out afterwords. She asked two questions after the age.
– Do you like Barbies or playing with your dolls?
– Do you like making things?
As readers of my blog knows Mis A loves making things. Her answer showed this and the elf disappeared, which we now know was to select the gift.
She spent a few happy minutes chatting with Santa before posing for the official photo and saying goodbye to him.
She was delighted to open her gift and find a bead making set inside.
