I don’t know where year three has gone, but it’s passed in a blur! It doesn’t seem five minutes ago that Miss A was starting the year. Now I have to face the fact that in September or October I’ll be visiting middle schools thinking about choices for next year and I’m not sure I’m ready for that yet.
She’s changed so much in the last year from the above photo taken in August last year to the one below taken in June this year.
When Miss A went into year three last September, she also started Key Stage 2 just at the same time the new curriculum was introduced. As such her first parents evening, we were told that with the new curriculum, some children weren’t achieving what the government thought they should be at their level, however they had never learnt some of the items that was required on the new curriculum so we weren’t to worry.
Last October Miss A was working towards everything in the new curriculum, but this July, she is beyond achieving her expected level which is great news.
Her report this year saw sentences such as:
has made more than expected progress this year
A super report well done
the things your teachers say about you is no surprise to me
I know that your behaviour is excellent
gives thoughtful explanations for different purposes
has been a delight to teach
her confidence to perform to the rest of the class is outstanding
Very proud parents, I just hope year four is ready for Miss A and she is ready for her last year at first school.
