I’ve been using my bullet journal for a month or so now, and I am so glad I discovered the idea behind having everything in one place. After trialling a cheaper notebook, I quickly swapped to a Leuchtturm1917 and it’s the perfect notebook for me. Available in so many different colours, I almost can’t wait to fill this one up so I can buy a new one.
After buying my supplies and trialling a few different layouts, I have managed to tweak my weekly spread to something I am very happy with, and one I’m not sure I will change for the foreseeable. I am able to add in blog tasks as well as personal to do items so I know what I need to get done in one glance. For now a daily spread wouldn’t work for me as I like looking at a week in advance at a time.
I am not as colourful as other bullet journals I have spotted on the internet, nor do I have as many pages – yet! I love the versatility of being able to trial a page and see if it works for me, if it doesn’t it can be changed for the following month.
Changes I am making from June through to July is adding smaller tasks to my weekly spread which will help me focus on what I want to achieve that week. We will have a busy few weeks coming up with the end of school term so having everything written down in front of me will be great.
I also have added in some competition wish lists and tracking any wins I may be lucky enough to have. One of my challenges this year is to win as much as I can for Christmas which will help towards my Disney savings target for a next holiday if we’re lucky enough to go again. All of this being in one place in my bullet journal is really helping me focus rather than having the different notebooks with scribbles on a previously talked about on my blog.
So the plan for July is focus and organisation. I have also been attempting to declutter the house via the Kon Marie method, so a quick handy reference guide in the journal is helping a lot and will help as the month goes forward. I can also add small tasks to my weekly spread to ensure I get to sort through a category and then in turn complete the category in my Kon Marie task page in the bullet journal.
