Playing games is an almost daily occurrence in our house, so every time a new game is introduced, Miss A can barely wait to play it. Pig Goes Pop from Drumond Park is parent heaven for the time it takes to remove from the box and start game play. The unit is complete on removal from the box, and there are no batteries to worry about. Perfect.
Suitable for children age 4 plus and for 2-6 players, we were ready to go within minutes. Inside the box there is a dice specific to the game with colours on rather than numbers, sixteen coloured plastic burgers, each with a number on the base, and Mr Pig himself.
Mr Pig has an expanding tummy, which when fed with too many burgers will go pop. The great thing about Mr Pig’s tummy however is that it doesn’t actually pop open spilling contents everywhere. Instead his belt pops open which means Pig Goes Pop can be played without the worry of pieces flying everywhere getting lost.
To play Pig Goes Pop, you must first prepare Mr Pig for play. Make sure his tummy is empty by opening the compartment at the back of his tummy. Twist his tail to release any air that he may have in his tummy, and do his belt up so he looks presentable for eating his large dinner he’s about to consume.
Each player in turn rolls the dice and collects a burger of the same colour as they roll. The dice has a couple of extra options including a multi coloured side which means you can choose any colour burger to feed Mr Pig.
Once you select your burger, you must turn it over and see the number on the base. Feed your burger to Mr Pig through his mouth and then it’s time to press down on his head the same number of times as you saw on your burger.
Each depress of the head adds a little air into Mr Pig’s tummy causing his tummy to get bigger and bigger. At this point, we realised that it’s easier for smaller children to play this game on the floor, as they get a better depression with www.ativan777.com and their body weight over the top of Mr Pig. Playing on a table top, and reach small arms in the air meant that sometimes Miss A wasn’t able to press the head down far enough for her go to count.
Once Mr Pig has eaten enough, his belt will burst open signifying a pop. The unlucky person who made Mr Pig’s belt pop open is unfortunately the loser and is out of the game. We decided that if there were two of us playing, then this was the end of the game and we started again. If there were more than two of us, then we just started another round to see who the ultimate winner would be.
Mr Pig can be set back to normal by removing the burgers from his tummy and rewinding his tail to remove the air. He’s ready for a new game within a minute or so.
Pig Goes Pop makes us chuckle every time we play it. For the £19.99 price tag, you will receive quick game play, lots of laughter, and a very sturdy product.
