6yo really responds well to praise, and thrives when she knows she’s been good enough to get to the top of the reward chart at the end of the week at school. Her school operates a sun, cloud, rainbow system with a pot of gold at the very top. This week she came bounding out of school wearing the crown in the picture. I knew by the beam on her face and the fact she was wearing something out of school and not every child was, that this was something special.
It was indeed the pot of gold reward for my 6yo. She was so pleased with herself. When asking how she was chosen, her normal reply is that she “doesn’t know”, but this week she knew exactly that she had been chosen (or noticed as she says) for trying hard with her hand writing, and being kind to others.
