It seems like yesterday that I was writing Lola’s Nine
She has been misbehaving a lot by digging the garden and making my floors a mess. Last week, she dug a hole in the garden, and must have eaten a stomach full of mud as around an hour after she came indoors, she threw up a black sticky mud consistency all over my beige carpet! I wasn’t happy to say the least, so she then threw up again on the rug! Why she couldn’t aim for the hard flooring I’ll never know, but one rug thrown out and a carpet being cleaned every other day to remove the stain has resulted in Lola being watched very carefully when she is in the garden.
Not content with mis behaving in the garden, she decided to wee on the sofa. It wasn’t a lot but it’s not the point, I think she got a little too comfortable ruling the living room sitting where she wanted. She is now banned from the furniture, and as she has grown slightly (a lot) since we got her bed, she has outgrown it, and I don’t want her to have to go in her crate during the day if someone is around unless she wants to, so she’s gained a new bed.
We have been impressed at how quickly she has learnt that she isn’t allowed on the furniture, and she understood it within the first twenty four hours, which proves that she can learn, and that makes it frustrating that she wont learn to listen to the word “no” in other situations.
We’ve also introduced Lola to the Kong toy this week and have started off with adding peanut butter to it to see how she would get on. She was distracted for at least half an hour, so I know I can add different yummy dog recipe ingredients to the Kong to keep her brain whirring when I’m out now.
