Being a Mum, working part-time, having a husband who works shifts can mean that we’re always grabbing the rare opportunities to spend family days together. Add seeing friends to the mix and you start to wonder when you ever fit it all in, let alone thinking about the housework, and dare I say it time to blog.
I mentioned last week that I was off on a weekend jolly to meet some great blogging friends this weekend. The weekend has rushed past in a blur, and it’s going to take me all week to catch up on the tiredness that I’m still feeling this afternoon, but I can honestly say I haven’t laughed so much in ages. My sore throat is a testament to this fact. Laughter really is the best medicine.
We all seemed to fall into easy conversation from the minute we all arrived albeit a few of us were a little later than originally planned. The drink flowed, and the nibbles were aplenty, including plenty that I have never heard of before let alone tried, so it was lovely to taste new flavours, and sample different foods. Some of my favourites of the evening were the frozen cocktails from MyCocktail as the citrus lime flavour was really strong and refreshing, the popchips in salt and pepper flavour because they are healthy it meant I could eat more, and who knew broccoli was so nice raw? I didn’t, but I have been converted!
I’m usually an early bird to bed, but it was the early hours before I knew I had to stop chatting and make the move to get some sleep before we needed to be up early for a breakfast treat at Frankie & Bennys.
Breakfast was over too quick, and it was time for us to start departing our own ways to make our journeys home. It was really lovely to get together with friends that I have made through blogging, and would never have crossed paths with if it hadn’t been for blogging.
