Since 6yo went ice skating during half term with her Dad, she’s been really excited to go again to show me her confidence on the ice. We got up early to go this morning, which 6yo was very pleased about and eager to get going. The rink we went to is only a small one, but thankfully not too busy this morning.
Needing to hold onto Daddy, it wasn’t long before she was pulling him around the rink. There was a spectacular stumble after about ten minutes on the ice, and if it had have been me there with her then it would have ended so differently, but Daddy is a pretty skilled skater, so he saved the day, and 6yo came up smiling.
That smile didn’t leave her face the whole time she was there!
We did witness some spectacularly groovy moves between 6yo and Daddy.
They only had an hour on the ice, which was probably enough judging by how hot and thirsty she was at the end of the time slot. As a spectator, I was a little chilly, but it was so nice to see the smile on her face as she realised she wasn’t going to fall over holding on to Daddy’s hand. I think next time she may even let go.
