You can guarantee to get ill when you have a week off from work can’t you. Your body relaxes and lets the germs take hold. One day into my weeks annual leave last month and I got a sore throat which turned into a head cold that’s still lingering with a cough now two weeks later. I was trying to make sure I took extra care of my skin as my face really seemed to be suffering with the cold weather and having a cold at the same time. The skin around my eyes especially was feeling dry and tight no matter how much extra eye cream and moisturiser I fed it.
It was almost like the perfect package arrived in the post that week to provide me care and relief for my eyes. Caring for your eyes is so important, and I know I don’t do enough to look after them. We only get one set, and I am already realising I need to wear my glasses more these days.
Therapearl eye-ssential mask can be used hot or cold which intrigued me instantly. I have had my times of placing cucumber over my eyes, and also cold flannels when I have a headache to soothe the pain, but never have I seen a product such as this multi use one that is designed to soothe headaches, puffy eyes and dry eyes. A little bit of pampering was very welcome.
Having a cold and not sleeping very well did mean my eyes were puffy, and sadly people were noticing. This doesn’t bother me appearance wise, but clearly I wasn’t looking 100% well and it was showing. The mask itself is made up of a mix of squishy pearls contained inside a generous sized eye shaped mask.
I wanted to combat my puffiness around my eyes so I popped the mask into the freezer for two hours before using. It was very cold to begin with, but I could immediately feel that it would be amazing when suffering with a headache. You would just need the foresight to freeze the mask to get the benefit.
I don’t suffer with dry eyes too often unless I don’t put my glasses on when I’m in front of a screen for a prolonged period of time. When you’re tired then dry eyes can be quite sore, especially in the evenings. Pop the mask in the microwave for 10-15 seconds depending on the wattage of your microwave and the mask takes on a completely different perspective. My eyes felt relaxed when covered with the warm mask, and my dry eyes did go a long way to feeling soothed. It helps to remove yourself from what is causing the problems and relax at the same time. Pampering doesn’t have to take a long time to get some benefit. The Therapearl mask has an RRP of £7.99.
I also received some Biotrue eye lid wipes. I am religious on washing my face, but I’ll be honest I have never thought of using an additional wipe for my eyelids. I use eye make up remover to take my eye make up off, but I usually miss some which is the point of this product. The bacteria that gets caught in between our eye lashes contribute to eye infections. When you think about it, it’s quite disturbing.
The wipes themselves come in a pack of 20 costing £9.99. A single wipe is quite large considering it’s designed for one eye only for hygiene reasons. When using the wipes, I found them to be quite wet in consistency, but yet the skin dried very quickly and didn’t leave my skin feeling tight which was very promising. I found a good time to use these was in the evening after taking the dirt and grime of the day from my face.
I’ve included my affiliate links to the products for your convenience should you wish to try them.
